Speed & Agility

Introducing: UTREC Speed & Agility!

Due to the overwhelming response to this new program, registration closed on Friday, 5/31 after 86 kids signed up. We’re looking forward to a great inaugural season, and exploring options to expand this program in the future.

Program Overview:

UTREC is excited about a new program offered to get our kids moving while they gain speed and flexibility (a foundation for all sports).  Has anyone ever said “that player is too fast and way too agile?!”  We think not!

This program will run on Monday evenings at Finn Park from 6/24 – 7/29 in two sessions based on your child’s grade for the upcoming school year (2024/25):

  • For K – 3rd graders: 6 – 6:50pm
  • For 4 – 8th graders: 7 – 7:50pm

Classes will be hosted by UTREC parent and Pingry Football Coach, Mr. Brad Banken.  Each week, kids will start off stretching before moving through stations learning fundamental drills to improve their (you guessed it) – speed and agility.  These will be done leveraging hurdles, bands, parachutes, ladders, medicine balls, etc.  There will also be a weekly relay race or game, and early and end-of-session testing to chart improvement!

Two notes, 1) each child will be provided a technical t-shirt to wear weekly and 2) each session is capped at 24 participants, so we encourage you to register today!
