The Union Township Recreation Committee is excited to announce that registration is open for Youth Basketball.
Registration is open from 10/1 – 10/24. The program is for grades K-8 and runs from mid-November through mid-March, pending cancellations due to weather.
Below is the tentative practice schedule for the league. Practices will be held at Union Township’s Elementary and Middle School gyms, and the schedule will be finalized after registration closes and coaches are assigned.
- Grades K-2: Mondays for one hour (between 6-8pm) for this co-ed program broken out by grade.
- Grades 3-8: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday based on volunteer coach availability (between 6-9pm) for these teams broken out by gender, and into 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 grade groups.
Only grades 3-8 will have games, which are typically played on Saturdays either at the UT Middle School gym or at the opposing team’s court, beginning in January. Please note, the game schedule will be finalized and distributed in December.
Important dates to note:
- A late registration period will be active from Oct 25 – 31, subject to a late fee. No registrations after October 31st will be accepted.
- Evaluations for grades 3-8 will run in November. Dates and times TBD. Evaluations are to help understand your child’s skill level and make the teams balanced.
- Practices for all grades will begin the week of December 2nd.
- Game will start in January. Dates and times still TBD (this will be finalized before Christmas).

Type in “Union Township Hampton NJ, NJ” for organization and select it from the drop down, make an account if needed, and then sign up as warranted. Once logged in/account made, look for the orange “register now” button. Click it and the current seasons open for registration will appear in a new box. Select and go from there.
