Registration for Adult Basketball closed on 10/31. We’re looking forward to a great season!
FAQs:
Who? Local residents, men or women, over the age of 22 years old, interested in playing basketball.
When? This would run from December through mid-March on Thursday nights between 6-9pm
Where? Union Township Elementary School.
How will this work?
- This will be run as an open gym/pickup format again this year.
- People will register through CommunityPass, sign standard waivers, etc. and pay a fee for the season of $80.
- Everyone gets a reversable Union Township black and white numbered pinnie to use weekly. Note – we’ll be collecting shirt sizes after registration closes.
- Once the season starts, we play 5 v 5 in the gym from 6-9pm. Its pickup games. If we don’t have 10 people on a given week, its 4 v 4, or half court 3 v 3, or H-O-R-S-E (i.e. we’re flexible).
- No jerks allowed! If anyone is playing too aggressive or making hard fouls, they’ll get 1 warning. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, the person will be asked to leave that evening. If someone is asked to leave more than 2x throughout the season, they will be prohibited from the remainder of the games/season. No refund will be issued.
- Please note, a late registration period will be active from Oct 25 – 31, subject to a late fee and waitlist. No registrations after October 31st will be accepted.
Why? It’ll be fun, and it provides recreation opportunities for adults while driving community engagement!
NEW for 2024/25! We’re planning two enhancements this season:
- A “March Madness”-style tournament to end the season!
- Third Thursday social events… were we cut out of the gym a little early to build some extra camaraderie.
